101 | In the 1870 census he's a stone molder. 1880 census, 2 households from Anna Edel Lucas, 32 laborer (stone moulder in other enumeration) Louisa, 25, wife Annie, 4 Lena, 6/12 Birth and death dates from BA. Retired Supt. for the Majestic Range Co. His mother & father's names show on his death cert. His wife at his death is Bertha Kondur Edel. 1889 St. Louis directory says he's a secretery at stove co. I can't find him in the 1900 census, but there is a Louisa Edel as head of household with a son Lucas born 1886. 129 | 1900 IN census Solomon Harter, head Mch 1857, 43, married 22 yrs,he&parents born Ohio, day laborer Ellen, wife april 1858, 42, mother of 8-7 living, she&mom born Ohio, father born New York Maud, 15, feb 1895 William, 12, Dec 1887 James, 10, Apr 1890 John, 7, Apr 1893 Chas M, 1, Oct 1898 2 Farber neighbors I am adding his parents, siblings and grandparents from information from MaryLou Hudson, whose sons descend from Solomon's uncle, Isaac Miller. I'm confident that they are relatives because they passed down the story that Solomon was thought to have died in North Dakota which I then learned seemed to match with daughter Maude being married there and Darke Co. PN was a match to what C. Allen knew about Solomon. Solomon's birthdate and Butler Twp. also come from MLH. | Solomon A. Harter

130 | "Benjamin F. Hartman was born in Shelby county, Ohio, July 19, 1844, and died April 14, 1904, at his home three miles northwest of Oswego, Kosciusko County, Indiana, aged 59 years, 8 months and 25 days. "Ben," as he was familiarly called, removed with his parents to Whitley county, Indiana, in 1853, and with the exception of his three years' service in the army and one year's residence in Kansas, his whole life was passed in Whitley and Kosciusko counties. On August 8, 1862, he enlisted in the Seventy-fourth Indiana Volunteer Infantry, and served to the close of the war and received an honorable discharge. That he was a member of the gallant Seventy-fourth is proof of his actual service to his country. On December 9, 1871 he was married to Miss Myra Thompson and to this union nine children were born. Two of these died in infancy and seven are still living. He leaves a wife, seven children, three brothers, four sisters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. He was an affectionate father, a loving husband, a good, kind helpful friend and neighbor. No one went to him for counsel or consolation in vain. The funeral was very largely attended on Sunday, April 17, and was conducted by Rev. George H. Lockhart, of Warsaw, and held in the Baptist church of Oswego. The interment was in the Oswego cemetery and conducted by the G.A.R. of Milford, of which he was a member." The History of the Swander Family has him as "Beryaman F...born July 19, 1844." | Benjamin F. Hartman

He played on the basketball team of '24 that won 18 out of 24 games, won the County tournament for the first time in the history of the school, and was runner-up in the district tournament. "'Hartman,' remembered for that center shot that beat Milford with only fifty-five seconds to play in the county tournament." | Charles Everett Hartman

149 | My grandfather was proud to be the first boy in his family born in the US. He was baptized at St. John Nepumuk. He moved around quite a lot in the years following his first wife's death. He was married and divorced between Lydia and Teresa to Ella Rather, as the annulment is noted in he and Teresa's church marriage record. He sent my father to approach Teresa, because he had been a friend of her and her first husband and he wasn't sure courting her would be appropriate to Edwin Peters' memory. The 1920 census finds him married to Lydia, right before her death. The 1930 census finds him a forman in a shoe factory, married to Teresa. Tom and Clarice remembered he made boxes for shoes. Later in life, he broke his jaw in an industrial accident. | Aloys (Louis) Joseph Kalney
