  He and almost all his children and grandchildren are buried at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery in St. Louis. 1860 census, St. Louis Ward 1 Vonturnaut, Charles, 30, Holland Sophia 35, Holland Petrus, 10, born Missouri Mary, 9/12, MO Louy Jakes, 28, Holland (Is this a relative of Sophie's?) I put Peter in my file as Sophia's child. I don't think she is his birth mother, but I don't know who is. 1880 census 1st enumeration Charle Van Thunhard, 50, Holl, Lime Yard Peter, 29, Holl, cigar maker Toni, 17, MO, works in tobacco factory Jean, 20, MO bar keeper Marie 20, MO Lizzie, 16, MO Jenie, 14, MO 2nd enumeration Charley Tourenhout, 52, Anna Tourenhaut, wife, 52, born Ger John Gerdes, SSon, 20, Plasterer, father born Holl Mother Ger Toney, 18 Lizzie, 16 His headstone says he was born in 1831. The cemetery database shows he was 70 at burial of March 20, 1900, which would put it between March 21, 1830 and March 20, 1829. I'm showing the Dec. 6, 1829 date on the funeral card in his son's things on St. Genevieve.net, which would be in the range of the cemetery record. (That also agrees with the age of Charles VanTourenhout on the 1847 ship manifest.)
